SATURDAY 17 AUGUST 2013

NOW IN IT’S FOURTH YEAR, KAPITI VINTAGE ONCE AGAIN INVITES YOU TO TAKE A JOURNEY BACK TO AN ERA WHERE LIFE WAS LESS RUSHED, PEOPLE MORE RELAXED AND FINE CUISINE WAS AN INTEGRAL PART OF A WONDERFUL, LONG UNHURRIED SOCIAL OCCASION.

The adventure begins as you climb on board a vintage steam train which then winds its way from Wellington to Otaki, leaving at 9.20am. The train will stop at stations along the way so if you prefer you can also join the train at any one of these (see timetable below).
Your destination, the Milk Station, an amazing old historic building where you’ll experience a long, slow, gastronomic feast. Kapiti Vintage once again invites you to take a journey back to an era where life was less rushed, people more relaxed and fine cuisine was an integral part of a wonderful, long unhurried social occasion.
LA CUISINE REGIONALE DE LA FRANCE
This year we feature an eclectic spread of classic french dishes authentically and lovingly produced by our award-winning chef, Simon Wislang, using the very best local ingredients complimented with wines, ales and olive oil.

Take time to relax, sit back and appreciate what great food and great company is all about - with live music to add the perfect ambience.

At 4.00pm take time to wander back to the Otaki Station and check out the Station Market. This special market will be set up during the afternoon and will feature a range of products including artisan breads, meats, olive oils, jams, fresh and baked products, wines, ales, liqueurs and organic juices. This is your chance to talk to the producers, find out about new recipe ideas and purchase some of the product you have experienced at the Kapiti Vintage lunch.
